Australia defeated Sri Lanka with ease in their T20 World Cup Super 12 Stage match in Perth on Tuesday.
Marcus Stoinis’s undefeated inning of 59 runs off 18 balls propelled Australia to 158/3 in 16.3 overs during their pursuit of 158 runs, resulting in a seven-wicket victory.
Aaron Finch also recorded an undefeated performance of 31 runs off of 42 balls, while Glenn Maxwell scored 23 runs off of 12 balls.
Dhananjaya de Silva, Chamika Karunaratne, and Mahesh Theekshana got a wicket each for Sri Lanka. Initially, Charith Asalanka’s undefeated innings of 38 runs off 25 balls enabled Sri Lanka to score 157/6 in 20 overs.
Pathum Nissanka scored 40 runs off 45 balls and Dhananjaya de Silva smashed 26 runs off 23 deliveries. Aussies Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Ashton Agar, and Maxwell each took one wicket.
