The road from Dalugama to Colombo has been completely blocked due to the student-organized protest demanding the release of the inter-university student union convener Wasantha Mudalige and Siridhamma Thero, who are jailed under the Terrorism Act.
In order to stop the protest, the police have erected barricades near the Dalugama tire junction to totally block the road, obstructing the university students who have joined the march on one side.
Due to this, traffic on the Colombo-Kandy road has been brought to a halt, and the police have advised drivers to use alternate routes.
