According to Motor Transport Commissioner General Nishantha Weerasinghe, a pilot project to electrify 300 three-wheelers has been initiated as a solution to the petroleum crisis that Sri Lanka is facing. This initiative is receiving help from the United Nations Development Program.
The Commissioner General of Motor Transport further stated that a special conference will be held on the 30th of this month at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall in Colombo to receive proposals for preparing the legal background related to this project. Additionally, the Commissioner General of Motor Transport stated that during this conference, the technical aspects and regulations of this project will be discussed.
