The Wildlife Department has decided to bring charges against a group of people who have behaved harmfully in Yala Park.
Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Agriculture, Wildlife, and Forest Resources Conservation, has ordered the Director General of Wildlife to take urgent legal action against the individuals who drove their vehicles in a disturbing manner to the wild animals in Yala Park.
Accordingly, Director General of Wildlife Chandana Suriyabandara stated that since the Wildlife Department has all the information about the perpetrators, including their names, ID numbers, addresses, and vehicle numbers, as well as all the evidence proving their inappropriate behavior, they have decided to file charges against all of them.
The wildlife department further stated that none of these individuals had special sponsorship to visit Yala and that they were all ordinary travelers.
