On Sunday, a Russian Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jet crashed into a house in the Siberian city of Irkutsk, killing both pilots. This was the second time in six days that a Sukhoi fighter plane was involved in a fatal crash.
Irkutsk’s governor, Igor Kobzev, wrote on Telegram that the plane crashed into a two-story residence in the city. He posted a video of firefighters climbing over the wreckage and spraying water at the still-burning debris.
The governor also stated that he had visited the crash site and confirmed that both pilots had died.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Emergency, the plane crashed during a test flight.
Social media videos showed the aircraft falling almost vertically before exploding in a ball of flames.
